THE ASCP's MISSION

Anyone who has ever looked up towards the sky during a crisp and clear night would have to admit that we live in a vast universe. Just trying to comprehend the massive proportions of our galaxy results in failure. Even attempting to picture the size of our own solar system is no easy task.
These observations that we often have made about how unfathomable the scale of our own world is amidst our neighboring planets brings us to the topic of my endeavor to try and solve that problem. Imagine for a moment that the Massachusetts county of the Berkshires was our solar system. Where do you think each of our neighboring planets and our own world would fall within the confines of our county? That is the mission of the AstroShire County Project (ASCP): to bring our hometowns to scale with the heavens. By using various methods of tech software (Google Maps and the Solar System Scope), we are able to calculate the location from which each planet would orbit the "sun" in the Greylock System to the hundredth of a mile.

This website has been designed for you to be able to explore our research and discover the magic of the AstroShire. Stunning images, interactive maps, and mind-blowing stats have been created for your convenience, enabling you to enjoyably familiarize yourself with the simplified proportions of our solar system and its many worlds. Learn, explore, and enjoy!
